Reminded

Reminded of who I am.

Reminded of whose I am.

Reminded of the only unshakable, immovable, right hand of God that I freely choose to hold my trust and faith in today.

Reminded that whenever I begin to strive by my own power, which easily exhausts, I am the one choosing to drop the steady hand of our Father in Heaven that guides with goodness, truth and love.

When I am lost, LORD, you leave the 99 to bring me back.

Let me see your staff clearly through my tears.

When I am angry, allow my heart to look for your peace.

When I am scared, walk me under the safety of your wings.

When I am sad, touch my heart to beat again.

When I am proud, remind me to be humble.

When I am disappointed, appoint me with your grace.

When I am joyful through it all, let it spread like wildfire and point to you.

Let your love flow out of my emotions, so that no one could doubt your presence in me.

Jesus, the good shepherd, God in the flesh;

Waiting patiently.

Never silently.

For your voice is in the stillness of the morning, the sounds of creation, The Word fixed on the heart of trusted friends.

It is my individual decision to acknowledge in sorrow my sin and turn back to the only loving and direct power source in existence that never fades as we do.

I am reminded of how God gently guides us back to a holy fire of peace with love.

Reminded of who I am.

Reminded of whose I am.

Reminded of the only unshakable, immovable, right hand of God that I freely choose.

Each day.

Today’s poetry is a little of a prayer that I began this morning. May the truth in it shine to someone who needs to hear it today. – ljh
