A poem just came to mind while doing dishes. I know, glamorous, right? Well, the first two lines came to mind, so I decided to abandon daily chores, run to my laptop and free-write a little bit; publish it to my blog to stay on track. I’m in the midst of what I can feel is a life changing Bible Study on the Holy Spirit, called Forgotten God, by Francis Chan. I’m pretty sure it’s a study that I’ll be finishing for the rest of my life. I’ve always considered myself a deep thinker…but it’s challenging me to think even more deeply about my beliefs. About the gifts of the Spirit that are all too often forgotten, misunderstood, ignored…unexplored. I’m praying for bold change. A voice that isn’t afraid to be heard.
What Voice is This
Does anyone hear what I have to say?
Does anyone want to know anyway?
In this world there are so many voices
Silent,
Boastful,
so many choices.
I think.
I write.
So does he.
So does she.
What makes what I say any different?
Where does it come from today?
Joy. Peace. Gentleness.
Fruits of the Spirit.
Not my own.
Listening for guidance.
Seeking His kindness.
If He wants a voice heard,
it will find its way.
I love it when lines come in unexpected everyday places! This is great – thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the kind words & the follow! 🙂 I look forward to reading what you post as well!
